Christmas 2017 Teapot Treat and Gift Card Holder

Hi Everyone,

The last project for this Christmas is an all-purpose, treat, teabag or gift card holder.  In the shape of a teapot, it is an adorable way to give someone a treat and a gift card.  Dress it up for Christmas, or decorate it to personalize it to your recipient.

The pocket on the teapot measures 3″ by 3 3/4″ by 1/2″, and will fit a couple of teabags, a gift card, some candy or even small pieces of jewelry.  It is made from an 8″ by 8″ piece of card stock, and scored on the diagonal.

Place the diagonal on the 1/4″ in line and score, turn the piece 180 degrees, and place the diagonal on the 1/4″ line and score again.  This will give you a 1/2″ strip down the center of the diagonal.  Turn it 90 degrees, and now place the diagonal on the 1 1/2″ line and score, turn it 180 degrees and place the diagonal on the 1 1/2″ line and score again.

I used a 1 1/2″ punch to round the corners at the top and on both flaps for the handle.  I used a 1″ circle punch to create the handle, and also to shape the curve in the spout.  It is not hard to create, but a bit hard to explain.  So, I will put in the video so you can watch how I did it.

This project finishes the Christmas 2017 series, and I hope you enjoyed these projects as much as I did bringing them to you.

I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas, and may you find joy and peace in the child of Bethlehem.  Rejoice!  ~Darby

    1. I am glad you liked it. I couldn’t stop myself from singing the “I’m a little teapot short and stout” song while making these. Thank you for visiting. Smiles, Darby

I would love to hear from you!
