Halloween Pillow Box Treat Pouch

Hi Everyone,

I have a very cute treat pouch for All Hallow’s Eve.  They are 6″ by 3″, and have enough depth to fit a few miniature Hershey’s bars, or other mini-bars, or even a treat size bag of M&Ms or Skittles.

Scroll down for the link to the project video.

How cute!  I used the pillow box die from the Trim Your Stocking Thinlits die, but only cut the bottom half of the pillow box.  I started with 2 pieces of 3″ x 6″ designer series paper, Spooky Night, and the page that contains the cat images.  After partially cutting each 3″ x 6″ paper using the pillow box die, I cut the two side tabs off of one of the pieces.  I show how to use the trimmer to do this because the score line only goes partially up the side.  But, you are welcome to do this with a pair of scissors as well.

Then the sides were glued together, and the cat was adhered to the front after punching it out of the paper.  Then, I used a 1 1/2″ circle punch to cut the hole in the top, centering it by eye.  I also used the same circle punch to round my top two corners.  Just snug the corner into the punch from inside the bottom, and punch.  It works pretty well!

The sentiment is from the Spooky Cat Stamp Set, and was stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock and cut out using the little rectangle tag die in the Trim Your Stocking thinlits set.  I used Pumpkin Pie for the sentiment, and Smokey Slate for the little potion bubbles decorating the corner.  A piece of Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon folded underneath, and basic black Baker’s Twine to hold it onto the pouch, although there are a couple of glue dots under the tag to secure it to the pouch.

But they are not just for Halloween, here is a Christmas version.  I used the holly from the Trim Your Stocking thinlits set, but the cute little snowman is from the Seasonal Chums stamp set.  He is actually a folded over tag, although I just used the front.  There is a thinlit set to match this set as well, and it also includes an adorable reindeer and sweet little pumpkin, which are tags as well.  What a fun bundle.

I hope you enjoy this project and check out the video!

Stop by often, and until we meet again, may your days be blessed! ~Darby
