Love and Hugs Holder with Ribbon of Courage

Hi Everyone,

Today I have a sweet, but quick, little project that was inspired when a gentleman at church was telling me about his mom.  She was undergoing chemotherapy, and was having trouble with an altered taste in her mouth and very chapped lips.  So I thought I would make a little something that may help with these problems, but would also let her know we are praying for her.  The Ribbon of Courage stamp set is perfect for this treat holder project.  The holder contains a mini-container of TicTacs and a soothing lip balm.  And here they are…

Scroll down for a link to the video for this project.

I call it my Love and Hugs Holder, and it is made with a 2″ x 10 5/8″ strip of card stock scored at 5″ and 5 5/8″.  Both ends were punched with the scalloped tag topper punch, and then it was wrapped with a 2 x 6″ piece of designer series paper at the bottom to enclose it.  The DSP was scored on the long side at 1 1/2″, 2 1/8″, 4 1/8″ and 4 3/4″ and adhered around the card stock as seen in the picture, with the overlap at the back.  The Ribbon of Courage support ribbon stamped, after stamping off so the impression would be lighter.  Then, the sentiment was stamped over the middle of the support ribbon, and it was fussy cut and adhered to the front of the holder.  Tucked into the holder was also a little note of encouragement and support.

This will hold a lip balm and a mini TicTac container.

They make up very quickly, and you can make four from one sheet of 8 1/2″ x 11″ card stock.  The DSP wrap can be from 12 x 12 paper the 6 x 6 paper stacks, so you can select any paper you like for these, and make them feminine or masculine as needed.

But, if you don’t know that many people undergoing treatment, I think they would also make a very nice gift for overnight visitors in your home, especially during the fall and winter seasons.  I would just change the support ribbon to another shape, perhaps a layering or stitched shape oval, the pretty label punch, or even the badge punch, and stamp it with the same sentiment from the Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set.  Your guests will feel very welcome when they see it on the pillow or night stand.

Supplies for this one include:  Soft Sky card stock, Delightful Daisy designer series paper, Calypso Coral and Night of Navy ink, Whisper White ribbon, the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and the Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set.

Although it is a bit hard to see in the picture, I used Wisteria Wonder Card stock, Wisteria Wonder and Night of Navy ink, Whisper White ribbon, Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper, the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and the Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set.
